As we remember those who have and are serving in the US military, Memorial Day 2024 will be a day for gatherings. For Chelle’s Organic Hair Salon, our hours will remain the same. My remembrance and gathering will take place outside of business days.

I want to express my gratitude for the freedoms and liberties I can enjoy as a result of those who serve. One freedom is the ability to choose healthier options for coloring and caring for one’s hair. Equally important is the freedom to choose where I want to serve my community. On this special day, it is a blessing that we can come together as a community, and nation, to pay tribute to fallen heroes.

While Memorial Day 2024 is primarily a day of remembrance, there are still reasons to commemorate it. It is an opportunity to honor everyone who has made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. Some may visit the gravesites of loved ones or simply spend time together.

We should remember to educate the younger generations about the significance of Memorial Day and the importance of honoring those who are currently serving and those who have given their lives serving.
